Market Place Program

It can be difficult for people in Living In Care to access some of the pleasures that we all take for granted. Simple things like going to the local corner store, on a whim, to satisfy an insatiable sweet tooth are often not possible.

The Market Place program, offered by Auxiliary volunteers for over three decades, brings the corner store to the residents at Peace Arch Hospital. A travelling confection and sundry service, the Market Place program makes weekly visits to all of the long-term care units at Peace Arch Hospital so that our residents can make purchases of products that satisfy their cravings or fulfill another need. Always thoughtful, the Market Place program carries the most popular items as identified by our residents themselves.
